The process of designing performance assessment for elementary students requires a good understanding of content and requirements across multiple disciplines. In the case of my examples, I suggest using search tools on the web to identify the state or national standards your teaching situation requires. In my case I can use the Michigan Department of Education website to access PDF formatted versions of the state curriculum in Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Common Core standards being adopted can be found at the home page for the Common Core Standards initiative.
Now that I have shared two of my own resources for identifying standards for my elementary classes, I’d like you to share yours below. Using the tools I’ve demonstrated in my Screenflow tutorial on becoming a GaGa Post member, please add your own resources for identifying your necessary standards for development of performance assessments covering several standards.
